Spice Village Uplyft was started by the restaurant founders in a bid to give back to the community that has helped to bring them their success.
The idea of Spice Village Uplyft is to act as the brand’s official charity scheme, which provides free of cost healthy meals for homeless & vulnerable people in the local community & support local causes.
From its very beginning, Spice Village has been generously Contributing towards several local & international charities in south-east Asia, including Prince of Wales’s The British Asian Trust and Homeless and underprivileged people.
Our CEO is also leading a food industry-led initiative to end homelessness in London. His initiative to eliminate rough sleeping homeless people and enable these homeless people to become significant contributors into the society has been acknowledged & admired by the food industry nationally and other food businesses in the UK are joining the Spice Village campaign ‘NoOneEatsAlone’ quite vigorously. We have been approached by various food banks and other organisations and we were astonished by the need. We found out the food crisis is bigger than what is usually visible, so we thought to reach out to vulnerable people ourselves
In March 2020, Spice Village also initiated a charitable non-profit campaign One Million Meals www.onemillionmeals.uk during the pandemic and provided hot meals & drinks to NHS doctors, nurses, paramedics and keyworkers at the frontline fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic by involving students, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and local communities, the campaign was awarded Point of Light Award by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
At Spice Village, community and compassion are not just buzzwords – they’re the guiding principles that shape everything we do. As a recipient of the prestigious Queen’s Voluntary Services award, giving back has always been at the heart of our business. And as Ramadan approaches, our commitment to making a positive impact in the world around us only grows stronger.
That’s why we are thrilled to announce our partnership with the British Asian Trust to support their incredible work in Pakistan and South Asia. From mental health initiatives to child protection and livelihood programs, the British Asian Trust is dedicated to improving lives and building brighter futures for communities across the region.
Throughout the month of Ramadan March 2024, our branches in Tooting and Southall will be donating £1 from every bill to the British Asian Trust. Every meal you enjoy with us becomes an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Join us in embracing the true spirit of Ramadan – a time of giving, compassion, and unity. Together, let’s come together to support meaningful causes and create positive change in the world.
Thank you for being part of our journey to make a difference.
